There’s a lot to do at St. John’s.
MUSIC. Music is a fundamental element of worship. St. John’s is a singing church. Our Adult Choir, Handbell Choir and occasional instrumentalists add to our praise of the Lord. The Handbell Choir rehearses on Tuesday nights and the Adult Choir rehearses on Wednesday nights. New members are always welcome. Do you have a voice or an instrument to share as we praise God together?
YOUTH. Monthly events keep our 6th-12th grade youth active! We celebrate God’s love by having fun together, serving our neighbors and learning about God’s work in the world today. Each summer 8th-12th grade youth have the opportunity to spend a week away on a service trip or other youth gathering where they learn more about God’s love, serve others, share their talents, and grow in faith.
THE EVANGELISM COMMITTEE. This committee’s focus is on spreading the good news of Jesus Christ through projects within our church and projects in the community.
ST. JOHN’S MEN’S GROUP. This group provides fellowship on an informal basis for the men of the church. They enjoy a breakfast meal together once a month which includes time for devotions. The Men’s Group also performs tasks around the church and sponsors the paper recycling drive.
THE SUNSHINE CIRCLE. One of St. John’s oldest committees, this women’s group sponsors the annual Mother-Daughter Banquet in May, a special picnic in the summer and a Christmas Party. The members also provide tray favors for the Carroll Lutheran Village Nursing Home and Carroll Hospital Center during the year and provide Christmas Boxes for International Seafarers.
The people of St. John’s love to serve.
